The Mercedes-Benz.io Company
Mercedes-Benz.io is a company from the Mercedes-Benz Group. It was founded in 2017 with the mission to accelerate Mercedes-Benz’s digital transformation. During my time there, the company had around 400 people divided across three locations: Lisbon, Berlin, and Stuttgart.
The company organized itself using a Holacracy framework, where each individual was responsible for their own deliveries and much more. I strongly advise you to check it out!
The Data and Insights Circle in MB.io
We called ourselves the “Data Insights Circle.” The team included people from all areas of data expertise: engineers, analysts, scientists, and more. I worked as an Experimentation Analyst alongside one colleague.
With the support of our data expert colleagues, we pushed for data experimentation topics — specifically A/B testing and personalisation — inside Mercedes-Benz digital channels.

My Experience at Mercedes-Benz.io
I joined Mercedes-Benz.io in October 2019 with high expectations. I was curious to see how this “internal company” would influence one of the biggest auto brands in the world.
Over the course of nearly three years, I worked with many Mercedes-Benz markets around the globe. My focus was on pushing experimentation into their day-to-day digital activities. On the product side, we also worked closely with product teams to test and evaluate new releases and improvements.
In addition, the automotive market was going through big changes during that period. Being part of that transformation at one of its greatest brands was a rewarding experience. It shaped how I think about data-driven decision making at scale.
